We hope you have all been having great summer. We wanted to let you know of a couple of classes coming up next month and that our KnitTog knitting group will meet every Saturday from 10 - 12, so no more trying to remember which Saturday it is. The group wanes in the summer, but we hope that we will see more knitting needles clicking away in the Orange Room, when the summer buzz cools off. KnitTog is free and open to anyone who wants to knit, come and be inspired! And now a word about the classes. We offer a 20% discount on needles and yarn (except handspuns) to class participants on the day of classes.
Tricks with Sticks - Thursday September 11th & September 18th 6pm
Learn the techniques and skills used by professionals that give knit garments fine detail and the perfect finishing touches. Taught by Sue Wright, the class will take place on Thursday September 11th & September 18th, beginning at 6pm.
The first session covers 4 different methods of casting on, binding off, increasing and decreasing, and buttonhole construction. The second class will include seaming and short row shaping.
Join us for the evening of your choice, or both. The cost for both classes is $75, or $40 for one. You can use needles and yarn that you already have.
Modular Knitting Tuesday September 23, 6 - 9 pm
This class will cover techniques, shapes, and joining without seams of modular knitting. You will be on your way to be able to make scarves, afghans, baby blankets, jackets anything modular. It's great fun and will open doors to new ways of creating gorgeous knitwear. Cost is $25. No materials fee, bring your own. Taught by Karen.
Beginner Knitting Friday September 26 & October 3, 8:30 - 10 am
Learn to cast on and knit, and to read knitting patterns. $25. Materials not included.
